The skin is the largest organ in the human body, the first line of interaction with the external environment. Often the skin is not understood to serve a vital function in our health. In Chinese Medicine we look at the skin as an extension of the internal organ system. We make use of it to diagnose internal conditions. Most skin conditions can be treated not by applying creams and gels but through internal medicine. At Empirical Health we tackle psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema, acne and many other complex skin conditions with herbal formulas tailored to the individual.
